Proof of International Health Coverage

If you need a proof of health coverage letter, for example, for a visa application, you may print one from the Education Abroad (EA) portal after your program's application deadline.

  1. Log onto the EA Portal with your MSU NetID and Password
  2. Look on the right hand navigation bar for your application list
  3. Click on the EA program you need the proof of international health insurance.
NOTE: Only students who have been accepted and confirmed their participation will have the “Proof of International Health Insurance” link
  4. Scroll to the bottom of your checklist and you will see the section “Proof of International Health Insurance”
  5. Click on the “Proof of International Health Insurance” icon. You will be given the option to download the document or to e-mail it to the e-mail we have on file.
  6. This document will be available on the portal at all times. Therefore if you lose it, you can download or e-mail the document to yourself whenever you need it.

If you have any issues with the portal, contact the Office for Education Abroad.

Reimbursement Claims

If you pay out-of-pocket for any medical expenses, save your receipt(s) and submit a reimbursement claim. Invoices can also be submitted for direct payment (see specific instructions on the claim form).

Claims must be submitted within 90 days of incurring the expense. There are two ways to submit a claim:

Option 1: Submit to the Online Claims Portal

An acknowledgment email will be generated automatically once you submit the claim. If you do not receive that email, your submission wasn't successful and you should try again.

Option 2: Submit by Email.
