Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to do something to activate my ISOS coverage?

Students on an Education Abroad program

No. Education Abroad participants are automatically enrolled in ISOS coverage.

Non-Education Abroad travelers

If you have a signed Pre-Trip Authorization form and have registered in the MSU Global Travel Registry, you don't need to do anything else. Registering in the Travel Registry automatically enrolls you in insurance coverage and activates your ISOS membership.

Will there be any disruption to my health insurance coverage?

No, there will not be any disruptions to your health insurance coverage. Until August 15th, MSU-affiliated travelers will be covered by GeoBlue insurance. On August 15 and going forward, MSU-affiliated travelers will be covered by Chubb insurance through International SOS (ISOS).

What if my trip began before August 15 and ended after August 15?

If you incurred out-of-pocket medical expenses before August 15, 2018, you may submit a reimbursement claim to GeoBlue. Please review instructions for Education Abroad participants or instructions for all other international travelers.

If you require need assistance on or after August 15, contact International SOS at their 24/7 line 1-215-942-8478.
