The University Policy on Relationship Violence & Sexual Misconduct defines sexual misconduct as "a broad term that encompasses sexual harassment, sexual violence and sexual exploitation."
MSU faculty and staff are "responsible employees". This means if faculty or staff are informed of sexual misconduct they must report it to the MSU Police and the Office of Institutional Equity. Reports made to program directors or the MSU 24/7 International Emergency line are also subject to mandatory reporting procedures.
